Virtual reality is not only used for pornography

A groundbreaking virtual reality company is speaking out against pornography and publicly declaring their stance as an organization that will never facilitate any sort of adult/pornographic content in their work.

THE VOID is a virtual reality group that is leading the world in a new form of immersive entertainment. By putting together a combination of physical environments with real-time interactive effects and virtual reality headsets, the company is on the forefront of combining digital and physical worlds. This allows participants to not only watch movies or play games, but to live in them.

It’s kind of hard to explain, so we’ll just show you. Watch the video below to get the full effect:

In 2014, Ken Bretschneider, Curtis Hickman, and James Jensen founded THE VOID, with the vision to one day open VOID Experience Centers (VEC) across the globe. The company is committed to creating immersive Hyper-Reality experiences that take people to new worlds, and just opened with its first public experience in New York City at Madame Tussauds, where it partnered with Sony to create “Ghostbusters: Dimension”, an interactive Hyper-Reality experience that allows players to become actual Ghostbusters and capture ghosts.

vrvoid

However, not only is THE VOID intent on creating the world’s greatest virtual reality experience, they are committed to taking a stand against something that has been pushing its way into the virtual reality world from the beginning: pornography.

When virtual reality (VR) headsets started hitting the market within the last couple years, the porn industry began releasing VR porn that allowed viewers to feel like they were having a real sexual experience with a porn star. Soon after, the world’s largest porn site launched its VR porn section, and gave away 10,000 headsets as a way to get new viewers to its 360 degree X- rated content.

With THE VOID quickly becoming one of the world’s leaders in virtual reality entertainment, they reached out to Fight the New Drug to declare their stance against porn and go public with the announcement that they will never support the fast-growing trend of virtual reality pornography.

“Porn is going to happen with at-home VR but not at our place,” Ken Bretschneider told Fight the New Drug. Ken is the CEO of THE VOID, and is committed to keeping his company porn-free. “We’ve got more than enough worlds to create that are based off telling stories and we think that’s what’s going to be engaging for people. Our audience is looking for immersive experiences that include action, adventure, fantasy, horror, science-fiction, and more, and this is what we will deliver.”

While the unbelievable amount of money to be made in pornography tempts most organizations in this day and age, Bretschneider isn’t taking the bait.

“Many from our industry have suggested that THE VOID would do well by including porn as part of our content, and some even say we won’t survive unless we do,” he says. “Everybody asks us if we’re going to create porn because they think there is so much money to be made, and I’m just here to say that there is so much money to be made without doing porn too.”

Explain:The value of virtual reality

THE VOID’s Chief Visionary Officer, James Jensen, offers another perspective on the money to be made in porn.

“I’ve developed a lot of tech companies and most of them are companies that stream videos online,” Jensen told us. “I always say that I could have already been a billionaire if I wanted to because I’ve been approached about streaming porn a lot. If it was about money and not about family or considering lives it would destroy, I could be a billionaire. For me it’s a solid no every time.”

THE VOID is currently developing new experiences at their headquarters and are working hard to further innovate the next generation of technology and applications for virtual reality. Although many porn companies have begun making money off their virtual reality categories, THE VOID believes that their mission is much greater than just money, or even entertainment.

“I believe that those who create content have a responsibility to provide what society is looking for that isn’t detrimental to it and that’s what the challenge of being an artist is,” said Curtis Hickman, the company’s Chief Creative Officer. “It’s the mission of THE VOID to create content that is in the promotion of good things. It’s about creating work that will benefit society. Pornography does a lot of damage to society as a whole and I don’t want to be the author of something like that.”

Hickman finished by making a call to action to other VR companies to forget about the easy cash and strive to change the world through innovation and positivity.

“I challenge other VR groups to do the same thing. Just be very clear on where you stand and let the world know we’re going to do a lot of good with VR.”

VR classic movie recommendations(one)

The Shawshank Redemption
Do you know Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman starred in The Shawshank Redemption you, this is a very moving film tells of a prison story about hope and redemption.
Other past Best Picture nominees from Sony include: “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Sense and Sensibility,” and “The Shawshank Redemption.

Transformers
''Transformers'' overcame harsh reviews from critics, who called it a visual-effects extravaganza without much story or human heart.
But even to Chinese audiences, Hollywood products like “Avatar” and “Transformers” are still much more popular.

First Blood
First Blood is a somber reflection of the hardships that faced Vietnam War veterans upon their return to their native country, in which the protagonist blows up a helicopter with a freaking rock.

If you want to watch The Shawshank Redemption,Transformers
,First Blood, you can get a 3D VR glasses that you can exprience IMAX.Only take you a few dollars

Avatar
Obviously Avatar was a unique case in that it was basically sold as a 3D “experience,” so if you saw it in 2D you were missing out.

But I wonder how many of the millions of people who went to see Avatar realised just how true to real life the story is.

If you want to exprience 3D IMAX and immersive, you need get a SVPRO VR Display.

You can play ping-pong with virtual reality now

vr ping-pong

This miracle of miracles is appropriately titled Paddle Up and released today on Steam for the HTC Vive. Paddle Up offers a litany of game modes including solo-play, vs. AI,  multiplayer support.

This means that the days of pretending to be friends with boring old Dale from next door just to play on his table are over! Now you can sharpen your skills by yourself, or play a round or two with your actual friends while Dale watches with tears from the window (as it should be, that guy is seriously the worst).

We reported on a VR Beer Pong experience previously, and there are plenty of other similar games on Steam, in addition to table tennis in Rec Room, but this appears to be the most feature-rich and complete experience of its type thus far, which is great considering it’s still in Early Access. And that’s a sentiment the game’s creator, Pavel Jamal, echoed in an email with UploadVR.

“We’ve compared ourselves to all our competitors as they released while we held back,” Jamal said. “First call out I want to make is polish, none of the other products feel polished and you’ll have a different experience here. Easiest comparison is just features. Paddle Up brings multiplayer, accuracy challenge, beer pong, and multiple practice modes that will help you train in table tennis. None of our competitors can touch the level of quality of our multiplayer alone, and we have even more modes in the pipeline. We’ve also taken a different approach with physics compared to everyone else, we’ve taken everyone’s expectation of what a table tennis physics should feel like and turned them into different paddles. We’re a believer of no one paddle fits all.”

Only if you just want to exprience 3D movies, you can see SVPRO 3D VR glasses.

Top 10 Best Virtual Reality Headsets:The race is on

HTC Vive

The HTC Vive, is the Steam VR headset made in collaboration with Valve, the makers of legendary gaming series Half Life, and it hit shops in April.
The HTC Vive plugs into PCs and work with Valve's mammoth gaming ecosystem. It packs in 70 sensors to offer 360 degree head-tracking as well as a 90Hz refresh rate; the stat that's key to keeping down latency, which is the technical term for the effect that causes motion sickness. Thankfully, that wasn't an issue in our review time.
Essential reading: Best HTC Vive games
However, the key to the HTC Vive's success is the Lighthouse room tracking that enables you to move around with the headset on. It means mounting some sensors in your home, but the effect is next level. Check out our HTC Vive review to see how.
Out now, $799, htcvive.com
Oculus Rift

Oculus Rift is the headset that started the current hysteria. Developed by Palmer Luckey, funded via Kickstarter and snapped up by Facebook for a cool $2 billion, the Rift plugs into your computer's DVI and USB ports and tracks your head movements to provide 3D imagery on its stereo screens.
The consumer edition Rift uses a 2160 x 1200 resolution, working at 233 million pixels per second, with a 90Hz refresh rate. It's high tech stuff, which matches the HTC Vive for refresh rate, but lags behind PlayStation VR. However, given its access to the power of latest PCs, it will be pushing a lot more pixels than Sony's headset.
Essential reading: Best Oculus Rift games
Oculus Rift has had some shipping delays, but the headset is finally arriving in homes. The Oculus Touch controllers however, are slated to arrive later in the year, so you'll have to settle for an Xbox One controller in the box. Be sure to read our definitive Oculus Rift review for more details.
Out now, $599, oculus.com
Sony PlayStation VR

We finally have a launch date for the PlayStation VR headset: 13 October 2016.
A new version was announced at GDC 2015 and gone is the 5-inch LCD display of the original prototype; in its place a 5.7-inch OLED one which enables low persistence, which should mean less motion blur. The display's refresh rate has also been ramped up to 120Hz, making 120fps gaming a real possibility.
The reported latency issues of Morpheus Mk1 have been addressed, with a new 18ms reading, and tracking accuracy has been tweaked with a total of nine LEDs now aiding the positional awareness of the headset.
Essential reading: Best PlayStation VR games
With its low price and pre-Christmas on-sale date, PlayStation VR has the chances to go big – even if by its own admission, the tech isn't up to the standards of its competitors. Check out our early PlayStation VR review for more information.
Out 13 October 2016 $399, sony.com
Samsung Gear VR

The Samsung Gear VR is actually Oculus Rift lite, given that the two companies collaborated for the technology.
The Gear VR is simply a case that uses a Samsung Galaxy smartphone as its processor and display. The handset simply slots in front of the lenses, into a Micro USB dock, and uses its Super AMOLED display as your screen. Slot in the phone, stick on the headset and you're into your virtual reality experience. The only catch is that you must use a Samsung handset.
Check them out: Best Samsung Gear VR experiences and games
We're not going to lie, the visuals are a little grainy. Like you're looking at your phone with a magnifying glass – which essentially you are. But there are huge benefits.
It's already added a host of games plus a whole marketplace of VR video content called Milk VR, and in terms of content is one of the best platforms out there.
Then there's the price: The Samsung Gear VR is available for just $99, which is just ludicrous value. It's just a shame you need a Samsung handset to take advantage. Read our full Samsung Gear VR review for more detail.

Google Cardboard

Not to be outdone, Google announced its Cardboard virtual reality headset at I/O 2014 and unveiled version 2 at the 2015 conference. Popping a smartphone into a cardboard container and then strapping it to your head may sound like a joke, but it actually works and it could become a low-cost way to experience virtual reality.
After all, your smartphone contains all the necessary gyroscopic sensors and positioning systems to accurately track your head movements. Related is Durovis' Dive, which is essentially the same thing made of higher quality and more sweat-resistant materials.
With the popularity of Cardboard, Google decided it would release an even better one. Called Daydream, the device is pretty much a Gear VR but apparently there's a whole slew of Android phones getting revamped to provide a better VR experience with Daydream. Companies making the handsets will also likely release their own mobile headsets.
There's no official date for its release except an estimate for this fall. We'll update the list to see if the Google VR headset - or any others running the Daydream platform - makes the cut then.
Take a look at the best Google Cardboard VR apps and games.

Microsoft HoloLens

Not a copycat of the big VR headsets, Microsoft HoloLens blends virtual and half augmented reality to make one of the most ambitious launches ever planed. The device merges real-world elements with virtual 'holographic' images, meaning you can look at your Minecraft world on your kitchen table, or walk around the surface of Mars in your living room.
Using Kinect-style tech to recognise gestures and voice commands, the headset has a 120-degree field of vision on both axes, and is capable of 'high definition' visuals, but it's still a letterbox compared to the likes of Oculus and Vive. More importantly, however, there's no connection to a PC – a full Windows 10 system is built into the headset and runs off a battery. No, we can't wait to see how long that lasts either.
The Development Edition is available now for Windows Insider members with a price tag of $3,000.
$3,000, microsoft.com
Meta 2

Meta had a developer kit of its augmented reality headset in 2013 but it's theMeta 2 that's really caught our attention. It looks similar to HoloLens with its large shape and helmet-like design, but second-gen headset offers a larger field of view than any other AR headset out and on the way.
At 90 degrees, its three times bigger than the original Meta, and its 2560 x 1440 display plus positional tracking allowing your hands to interact with what you see makes for a very promising device.
But like most AR headsets, it's not cheap and it hasn't officially released yet. To get your hands on a Meta 2, it'll cost $949 and won't ship until Q3 2016.
$949, metavision.com
Razer OSVR HDK 2

Razer's OSVR isn't a rival to the likes of Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Samsung Gear VR. Instead, it's intended to make life easier for developers to make applications for VR hardware, without technical (software and hardware) limitations getting in their way.
There's even a newer headset out aptly called the OSVR Hacker Developer Kit 2. It's got better hardware specs this time around with 2160 x 1200 dual OLED display putting it right up against the big names. However, there's still some comfort issues to work through. As the name says, the headset still remains open source, allowing third parties to do whatever they want with it.
We have already seen plenty of third parties getting involved to help develop new features, including gesture tracking with a Leap Motion faceplate in the past.
Previously on sale to developers, the general public can now order the first dev kit direct through Razer, although the company is keen to stress that it's still not a consumer product and, as such, only has a 30 day warranty. The second headset is available July this summer.
HDK 2 $399, HDK 1 $299.99razerzone.com
FOVE VR

FOVE VR differs from the likes of Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR because it offers interactive eye-tracking. Inside the headset is an infrared sensor that monitors the wearer's eyes; offering both a new control method and an edge on its competitors when it comes to realism.
With FOVE, simulated depth-of-field is possible, due to the system knowing exactly what you're looking at, and as a result, the virtual should appear more real.
It's also the ultimate VR lovechild, thanks to investment from Samsung Ventures, Fove claims it will use HTC's Lighthouse tech for full on room tracking. It's not the only deal that Fove and signed: it also makes use of the Wear VR software platform and is compatible with Unity, Unreal, and Cryengine game engines.
From $349, getfove.com

SVPRO is a integrated company of research, production and sales, which focus on VR glasses, display and related products.

SVPRO 3D VR display design philosophy is to allow users to fully get rid of the shackles of external devices, built-in processor, memory, display can meet hardware demands of the vast majority of games and movies, completely unrestricted from space and other devices (PC, phone).SVPRO's user immersion is better,  It is expected to become the mainstream in the future after the formation of the consumer market.

Freefly VR headset

Freefly's VR headset looks dorkier than most, thanks to those 'wings', but who cares? It's now compatible with the 200+ Google Cardboard apps, plus it rocks 42mm lenses and a 120-degree field of view while faux leather helps to keep things comfortable. It fits any smartphone with a screen between 4.7in and 6.1in, which is admittedly less than an Archos headset but still covers most flagships in 2016.
As well as featuring head-tracking via your phone's accelerometer, one point of difference over the cheapest options is that Freefly comes with an odd little controller, named Glide, that you hold in one hand. It saves you the cost of buying a Bluetooth peripheral, though we've got to say we prefer a two-handed controller for gaming.

Five Incredible HoloLens VR/AR Videos let you eye-opening

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen some really impressive demonstrations of the capabilities of Microsoft’s HoloLens mixed reality all-in-one headset.
We found the below five videos (plus the two linked above) do an incredible job showing the potential not just for HoloLens, but for a mixed reality future living with AR and VR technology as part of our everyday lives. If you don’t already believe AR and VR are poised to change our lives these videos should help change your mind.

FOR HOUSEHOLD CHORES
This demo shows a person wearing HoloLens and using it to insert a virtual sphere inside of a bush to provide guidelines to trim it into that shape. Essentially, it’s taking the old idea of a coloring book — where you try to stay inside the lines —  and applying to the 3D world around us.

FOR GAMES
We’ve seen a number of games demonstrated on HoloLens, such as Fragments and Young Conker which come bundled with the devkit, but seeing a 3D emulation of Super Mario Bros. is one of the most eye-opening yet. HoloLens has a relatively limited field of view when compared to VR headsets, so you’ll only ever see virtual objects floating in a rectangle in the middle of your vision. This poses some very challenging design problems to game designers. Many ideas that work great in a fully immersive VR world — where your mind believes you are somewhere else — just wouldn’t work very well playing in the real world with virtual objects inserted into a small portion of it.

Classic video games like Super Mario Bros., however, were built for square and rectangular screens. This may make them the perfect fit for a few minutes of fun distraction inside HoloLens.

You can play 3D virtual gaming with SVRPO VR display.

FOR SIGNAGE
From billboards and street signs to the fronts of buildings, words meet our eyes almost everywhere we look and it’s kind of astonishing how ugly most of these words actually look when you read them. Typography sets apart easy-to-understand text from something that’s frustrating to read. The $3 app Typography Insight by Dong Yoon Park offers a pretty compelling demonstration of how you could see how a particular type style will look before it gets put in the real world. Say goodbye to ugly signs.

FOR LEARNING
A number of similar videos are on Youtube, but this particular demonstration shows how HoloLens can be used to teach someone to play the piano. It overlays which keys to press directly onto the keyboard itself in a rolling fashion similar to Guitar Hero.

FOR MOTION CAPTURE
This last video seen on Twitter shows how HoloLens could be used to visualize a motion capture performance while it’s underway. A robotic figure repeats the same moves as the performer, potentially allowing filmmakers or game designers to more carefully direct performances that could bring more life out of the digitized character.
